Can you get any more woman than that?

This article is about a woman who wrote a supposedly true WW2 memoire which apparently became rather popular (I had never heard of it, though), but now she admits she made it all up.

So, what's extraordinary about a woman being found out lying, you may ask. Well, nothing – usually. But this article contains one line that really left me speechless.

"It's not actual reality, but it was my reality," she told Le Soir.

No, she wasn't hallucinating. (That would have been a justification.) She actually made it up and knew she was making it up, and still claimed it was a true story, in order for the book to sell better.

That's a woman for you – as woman as a woman can get. They seem to be born with certain skills we can never hope to even understand, let alone acquire. Finding excuses for one's dishonesty and being 100 percent cool about it is clearly one of them.
